Vizzn Inc. (“Vizzn”, “we”, “us”, our“) is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Vizzn makes every effort to ensure that its users understand the nature, purposes and consequences of the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information, which we explain in this Privacy Notice.
For the purposes of this Privacy Notice, “personal information” means any information that can reasonably be used, either alone or in combination with other information, to identify you.
When does this Privacy Notice apply?
This Privacy Notice explains how Vizzn collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use the Vizzn App (the “App”), or when access the website www.vizzn.ca (the “Site”) In addition, this Privacy Notice applies to information we may collect from you when you communicate with us via email, telephone, or using the in-App communication channel.
What personal information does Vizzn collect and how does it collect it?
We may collect the following types of personal information directly from you use the App:
Contact information, including your name, email address and telephone number; and
GPS information that indicates your geographic location while you are using the App.
The App includes a button that that allows you to turn our collection of GPS information on or off. When the button is in the ‘off’ position, Vizzn will not collect information about your location. Please turn GPS tracking ‘off’ when you are not at work.
We may also collect your contact information when you use the ‘Contact Us’ form on the Site, including your name, telephone number and email address, as well as any other personal information you decide to provide to us.
We may automatically collect certain technical information from any device that you use to access the Site or App. This includes:
Your device’s IP address, device model & manufacturer, web browser type and version, hardware model, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, and operating system version, as well as your internet service provider.
Information about how you use the Site, including the uniform resource locators (“URLs”) of other websites that you click to and from our Site (including the date and time clicked), emails we send that you open, forward, or click through to our Site, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages on the Site, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.
We may collect some of the above technical information using cookies or similar technologies. See Cookies & Other Technologies below for more detail on how we collect and use this information.
Why does Vizzn collect my personal information?
We may use your personal information to:
Create and provide you with your App user account;
Show your employer where you are in real-time, in order to facilitate your employer’s dispatch and scheduling activities;
Allow you to send messages and other communications to your employer and other users of the Vizzn App, as well as to indicate your name when you make a notate or comment on a record contained in the App;
Operate, maintain, manage and administer the Site and App, including administering your user account, addressing technical problems, detecting spam, and notifying you of unscheduled service interruptions as well as new features or functionality;
Respond to your complaints, comments, or requests for information; and
Request your feedback on the App and Site.
Cookies & Other Similar Technologies
We may use technologies such as cookies to automatically collect certain information about visitors to the Site. A “cookie” is a unique numeric code that we transfer to your computer that identifies your browser to our server when you visit the Site. We use cookies to recognize you as a return visitor to the Site and save any information you have may entered into a form, as well as to save your screen display choices. You can set your Internet browser settings to stop accepting new cookies, to receive notice when you receive a new cookie, or to disable existing cookies. Note that the opt-out will apply only to the browser that you are using when you decide to opt out of cookies. Without cookies though, the features described here will not function properly. Any cookie sent to your computer by Vizzn in connection with your use of the Site does not give us access to your computer.
How and why does Vizzn share my personal information?
We may disclose personal information collected using the App to your employer for the purpose of enabling them to improve their dispatch and scheduling activities.
In addition, to fulfill the purposes described above at Section 3 of this Privacy Notice, ‘Why does Vizzn collect my personal information?’, we need to share your personal information with the following types of third party service providers:
Cloud hosting and database software providers who help us host, administer, maintain and provide the App and Site.
When we allow a third party service provider to access your personal information, we only allow them to do so for the sole purpose of carrying out the above services on our behalf.
We may disclose your personal information to government, regulatory or law enforcement agencies as requested by these agencies, if we have a good faith belief that the disclosure is required or permitted by law. We may also disclose your personal information in order to enforce our legal rights; to detect, prevent or address fraud or security issues; and to enforce ours or others’ legal rights, property, or safety.
We may also transfer or assign your personal information to third parties because of, or in connection with a sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of assets, reorganization, or liquidation.
We do not trade, rent or sell your personal information.
How does Vizzn keep my personal information safe?
Vizzn maintains commercially reasonable methods, including the use of data security and encryption standards, to preserve the security of your personal information and to ensure that it is only used for the purposes that we have identified. The App and Site are hosted on the Google Cloud Platform, which is certified as ISO/IEC 27001 compliant. We restrict access to your personal information to only those Vizzn associates, affiliates, and service providers who require that information to carry out the purposes identified above at Section 3 of this Privacy Notice, ‘Why does Vizzn collect my personal information?’, and anyone with this access is subject to strict confidentiality obligations. However, you should be aware that no system is 100% secure, and despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee that your information will be secure, particularly while it is in transit over the Internet.
When your employer removes you as a user from its account, we will securely dispose of your account. The only information we will retain are your first and last name, for the purposes of providing context to records of scheduled dispatches that you participated in and commented on.
One or more of our service providers are located in the United States. This means that your personal information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United State, and may be accessible to regulatory authorities in accordance with the laws of the United States.
How can I access or correct my personal information?
If you request, we will let you know what information Vizzn has about you, what it is being used for, and with whom it has been shared. If you notice any inaccuracies or wish to update any of your personal information, we will make those changes.
We will provide you with access to your personal information that is in our control, subject to certain exceptions. These include where the information includes the personal information of another individual that cannot be separated from your personal information, information subject to solicitor-client privilege, or information that cannot be disclosed for any other legal, security, or commercial proprietary reasons.
